On April 08, 2011, I embarked on a musical journey of romance, passion and short side trips of the fun, playful and whimsical, all in the name of "love".
"This heavily piano based, jazz influenced collection of self – penned love songs, combined with the soft soothing tone of Zachary Splawn's vocals, is bound to place you in a trance of happiness and solace." - Dallas Observer
"Who Am I To Dream?" gives the listener a break from the over processed melodies of many artist of the times, and offers a genuine, new and refreshing sample of music for the mature listener.
During the creative process of making this CD, I channeled a few of my favorites from the past. Influences from Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, to name a few, help set the tone of this gorgeous, yet humbled collection of original music. I feel music of today has lost a certain substance and sincerity for which listeners of all ages are so desperately searching. In my opinion, that's why the classic loves songs remain so popular and continue to be re-recorded by popular artist: I figured, why re-record what others have done…I'll just write, sing and record my own.
Diane from Hammond, Indiana writes "love your songs: they're filled with such tenderness!" Kladia from Scotland wrote "Simply beautiful." Scotia from Samark and United Kingdom wrote: Superb! I can tell a lot of heart went into writing these beautiful melodies." These along with many other testimonials from around the world attest that "Zachary B. K. Splawn is expanding in an untapped arena", and acquiring a fast growing fan base.
So…sit back into that over-stuffed sofa, open your mind and enjoy the experience.
